  1. Participation in the Forum’s activities is open to all individuals and organizations whose objectives and activities conform to the Vision and Mission Statement of the Forum.
  2. The Forum believes in valued relations in change through services and subscribes to good governance and democratic means of advocacy. Good governance is meant responsibility, transparency, and accountability.  Democratic means of advocacy are related in the context of the Forum to cultural heritage, consent, and participatory processes.  Valued relations is meant dignity, integrity, and mutual respect.

Mona Salah El-Din Zulficar is an Egyptian lawyer and human rights activist. She was included in the Forbes 2023 list of the “100 most powerful businesswomen in the Arab region She participates in drafting new laws and developing existing laws related to economic legislation; Zulficar is an active advocate for human rights and women, both locally and internationally, and is campaigning for a new family law, to modernize the legal environment in Egypt, to keep pace with the social changes related to the situation of women, and to provide an open, liberal vision for the future.

In a special gesture of appreciation, we celebrate today an exceptional female figure who has contributed immensely to Egyptian diplomacy and women’s rights. Ambassador [MONA OMAR ], who chaired the International Relations Committee at the National Council for Women, has left an indelible mark through her tireless efforts in enhancing Egyptian women’s standing on the international stage. Her Excellency has distinguished herself with a unique personality that combines professional excellence with remarkable humility, and has been known for her refined humanity that earned her the love and respect of all who worked with her. Today, we present her with our deepest gratitude for her contributions during her chairmanship of the committee, and we share together as a team of the committee, moments of such a wonderful celebration.


Women and Sports day for peace

Cairo, September 26, 2024 – On the occasion of the International Peace Day, usually marked on September 21st of each year, and within the context of promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16―Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions – the National Council for Women, in partnership with UN Women Egypt and the Spanish government represented by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, organized the “Women’s Sports for Peace” event to highlight the pivotal role of women in promoting international peace. The event aimed at raising awareness of the concepts of women, peace, and security by utilizing sports as a tool to promote international peace through highlighting the ability of sports to transcend social and cultural barriers, empower women, and promote gender equality The event featured keynote speeches by H.E. Ambassador Mona Omar, Member of the National Council for Women and Head of the International Relations Committee; Dr. Moez Doraid, Regional Director, UN Women Regional Office for the Arab States; H.E. Ambassador Alvaro Iranzo, Spanish Ambassador to Egypt and Dr. Rania Alwany, Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant, 3-time Olympian and Ambassador of Sports and Peace
