World health organization in Egypt and a Collaboration between 2 great entities:-Egypt district 352 Lions Club Headed by Governor Nagwa EL Chouekh and Global Forum for Media and Development /EGYPT Headed by MS Magida Kotb, the two entities played a great role in World Sight Day campaign
World Sight Day 11 October 2012/ working together to eliminate avoidable blindness
WORLD Health Organization Key messages :-
80% of blindness is avoidable, i.e. readily treatable/ or preventable.
Cataract is the leading cause of blindness-yet it is curable by a simple, cost-effective operation
Uncorrected refractive errors is a leading cause of visual impairment
Diabetes affects vision .Diabetic patients must check their eyes regularly
Blindness due to infectious diseases and trachoma may be reduced simply by improving personal hygiene and washing your face several times a day

The Forum acts as a contributor to change, a vehicle for policy-makers, practitioners and scholars, and an instrument for the revival of the almost extinct cultural goods of particular indigenous groups. It also serves as a platform for discussing media and development issues, and as a network with similar organizations and networks.
